Abortion? Why NOT!

by Rebekah Prewitt

They sit in wait for you. They set up their clinics in your neighborhoods. They prey on you like a lion preys on a sheep. They know you will be a good candidate. They put the bait on the hook. They stretch out their rods over the waters. They patiently wait for you to take a bite. Are you going to do it?

Dear Sisters,

Run as far away as you possibly can from an abortion clinic. Don't let them rob you of the precious life you get to carry. They don't care about you nor your baby. They are looking to capitalize on the poor and needy, and that is the state you might be in right now. The Bible says of people who do this to you,

He sits in the lurking places of the villages; In the secret places he murders the innocent; His eyes are secretly fixed on the helpless. He lies in wait secretly, as a lion in his den; He lies in wait to catch the poor; He catches the poor when he draws him into his net. So he crouches, he lies low, That the helpless may fall by his strength (Psalm 10:8-10, NKJV).

These people are hanging around in your neighborhoods hoping to murder your innocent babies. They think that you are helpless, so they are hoping to capitalize on your pain. But sisters, humble yourselves and trust in God to help you. In the same Psalm David prays,

Arise, O LORD! O God, lift up Your hand! Do not forget the humble. Why do the wicked renounce God? He has said in his heart, "You will not require an account." But You have seen, for You observe trouble and grief, To repay it by Your hand. The helpless commits himself to You;You are the helper of the fatherless. Break the arm of the wicked and the evil man; Seek out his wickedness until You find none. The Lord is King forever and ever; The nations have perished out of His land. Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will prepare their heart; You will cause Your ear to hear, To do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, That the man of the earth may oppress no more.

Please commit your situation to God. They will tell you it's your body, and the choice is yours. But sister, the baby that is growing inside of you is also another body. Here is what David prayed and said to God concerning his own body in his mother's womb,

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous - how well I know it.

You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed (Psalm 139:13-16 NLT).

We as women have been given a wonderful privilege by God to bring other bodies into the world through our bodies. Picture this! Your body is like a car. You are the car and the passenger inside is what you carry. Only when you have reached your destination should that car door be opened to let that body out. Don't open that car door before time. Otherwise, while driving down the road your passenger will get hurt and die.
