I don't know your past, but I can tell you your future. Whether you are Baptist or Buddhist, Mormon or Muslim, Pentecostal or Presbyterian, Methodist or Moravian, Catholic or Calvinist, Hindu or Holiness, Atheist or Agnostic you are on the path that will lead to your death. There is no arguing the fact that death is the end of your path on this earth. After this, you will stand before the Almighty God in judgment. The Bible says, "It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" (Hebrews 9:27).
When you stand before God, you will be judged based on your works. "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad" (2 Corinthians 5:10). Make no mistake, this judgment will be thorough. You may get away with things on this earth, but there will be no hiding on that day. Every lie you have told, every profanity you have spoken, every time you had sex outside of marriage, every time you have slandered or gossiped, every time you have been drunk, and even a detailed record of your thoughts will be played before the judge of all the universe. "God's word is alive and working and is sharper than a double-edged sword. It cuts all the way into us, where the soul and the spirit are joined, to the center of our joints and bones. And it judges the thoughts and feelings in our hearts. Nothing in all the world can be hidden from God. Everything is clear and lies open before him, and to him we must explain the way we have lived" (Hebrews 4:12-13).
You also need to know that punishment is certain. "God's anger is shown from heaven against all the evil and wrong things people do" (Romans 1:18). "He that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons" (Colossians 3:25). You have probably forgotten many of your sins, but God has not. He has all of your sins written in a book. "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works"(Revelation 20:12).
You may say, "I don't really have to worry about this because I believe in God." Did you know that the devil believes in God? The Bible says so. "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble" (James 2:19). If you believe in God and the devil believes in God, what makes you different from him? I'll tell you one difference. If you have not fallen on your face to repent before Christ, then there is definitely one major difference between you and the devil. The devil trembles. You apparently do not. This means that Romans 3:18 is fulfilled in your life. It says, "There is no fear of God before their eyes."
My advice to you is to call on God today. Isaiah 55:6-7 says, "Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon."
There were two thieves that were crucified with Jesus. One of those thieves called on Christ. The other did not. Don't be like the thief that refused to repent! If you do, all that will be left for you is a future that you will...
